The pandemic has focused attention on the food we eat and the impact it has on both our physical well-being and the planet which produces it.

We are in the early stages of a profound transformation in our global food systems, providing enduring opportunities for investors looking for long-term secular growth.

Agriculture is the largest user of natural resources and therefore the logical starting point in tackling the climate emergency. There is an emergency in global health too, with 2.2bn overweight or obese people1 and a similar number without access to sufficient, safe or nutritious food2. Food therefore provides potentially the strongest lever to improve both health and our impact on the environment.

Pictet Nutrition invests in the future of food - in companies that improve the sustainability, access to, and quality of food and its production.

After all, as our global population increases and our eating habits evolve, improving the way we grow, transform and distribute food is rapidly becoming a necessity, not an option.

We believe this theme represents a compelling long-term investment case. Join us to find out why.

A changing investment landscape: the next five years

Our 8th Secular Outlook, explores the trends we believe will have the greatest impact on financial markets over the next five years. Whatever their vantage point, investors will find there is no escaping the pandemic’s effects. For the most part, the health crisis will reinforce or accelerate trends that were already unfolding in both financial markets and the economy. Even so, it will still change the way countries are governed, businesses are run and people live their lives.
